sometimes I hate helping people

Posted on January 18, 2022January 18, 2022 by steve

Like many nerds, I run a plex server for my friends and family. I’m sitting at about 20tb of storage on a NUC+NAS combo that’s doing hosting/transcoding.

But I just got an alert that the drives hit 1tb remaining.

ughhhhh

I added a show for a friend, but I guess the entirety of the show (which has a US and a UK release, both with 11 seasons) is pushing almost 600gb for download.

Kinda annoying, especially knowing that I’m going to retranscode it, it’ll probably drop it down to 100-200gb or so, but who knows.

It might actually be kinda cool to do a writeup on what I’m running for my full homelab stack, it’s evolved a ton, so I might just be able to do an export of a few configs and show off some stuff.

Normally, I hate reddit blogposts, but fucking look at me now, hosting a blog and actually filling the damn thing out.

gross.

this is probably my last post of the night, kinda shocking that it’s already 4am.
