It’s always been interesting seeing people slap crypto wallets on web pages, social media, and generally pretty much everything.
A weird passing interest of mine is to look at the wallets to see what they’ve held or are holding.
The nifty thing about the entire crypto world, for most currencies at least, a truly interested eye can really follow transactions back to the source.
Something I’ve been playing with is a web spider that scrapes web pages for crypto wallets and logs the information into a self-hosted database. It’s not really something I see /much/ value in, but I’ve always had a weird interest in it.
Something about financial voyeurism (as creepy as that sounds) is somewhat interesting to me.
Even after re-reading that line I’m even more creeped out by it.
Anyhow! There’s something really fascinating about seeing how money (even digital money) travels around.
I threw together a quick chrome extension (The only way I immediately know of to add extensions to Brave) that speeds up the process on a human visible level.
I’ve been noodling on ways to expand this extension, I’m even debating throwing it onto the chrome store. Never really approached releasing my software, but it could be a fun little experiment.
Really sparks the interest in what other features I can add to it too.
