crypto/web3.0 shenanigans

Posted on February 1, 2022 by steve

It drives me nuts how often we see stupid crypto projects, there’s all kinds of really interesting potential projects.

A couple years ago I whiteboarded a scraper to pull every account on Wikipedia, generate a wallet for it, and credit one token for every new article made it.

Every subsequent change would be credited after a week or something if the change wasn’t reverted. Something like
1 Coin on Article Generation

.5 coin on first update

.25 on second

halving into minuscule amounts, on a weekly basis,

I think it holds potential, but I don’t know anywhere near enough about getting something like it launched in a local test format

An upfront 2 /wikicoins/ per article doesn’t seem too bad.

And it’s better than jimmy goddamn wales begging for donations every time you open the goddamn site.
